    Somatic cell hybrids were constructed using Chinese hamster cells with mouse cells. Hybrid DNA was digested with HindIII, blotted and hybridized on Southerns using rat cDNA probes pRP33 and pRB8. This somatic cell panel suggested Prp was on Chromosome 8.However, the interval Es-1-H-29 was excluded by typing congenic strains B6.C-H-19c/By and B6.C-H-29c/By. Subsequent work has assigned Prp to Chromosome 6.
