Experiment

Somatic cell hybrids were constructed between Chinese hamster and mouse cells. Hybrid DNA was cleaved using EcoRI and probed using a mouse Il-2 specific DNA fragment on Southern blots. The Il-2 gene was found to be concordant with Chromosome 3 in 15 hybrid lines tested.
