  Two series of somatic cell hybrids were constructed. Series I clones were derived from Chinese hamster lung fibroblast V79/380-6 and mouse fibroblasts carrying Searle's translocation T(X;16)16H. EBS lines were derived from Chinese hamster cell line V79/E36 and spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse.
