  Additional actin gene or pseudogene sequences detected on chromosomes 2, and 17 (incomplete data). Gene symbol Mylpf (formerly Myls as used in this reference.The reported Chromosome 3 location for Acta1 has been revised in subsequent reports. Acta1 maps to Chromosome 8 and not 3.

  Chinese hamster E36 cells were fused with A/HeJ peritoneal macrophages, BALB/c fetal fibroblasts, Meta fibroblasts, CT11C cells or CMS4 tumor cells. Mouse chromosome component determined by karyotypic and isozyme analyses. The assignment to Chromosome 3 was confirmed by rehybridizing the blot with a 584bp 5' fragment of plasmid pAc15-2.Subsequent mapping data have shown a locus for Acta1 on Chromosome 8, it can be noted here that there was only one discordant hybrid of Acta1 with Chromosome 8 in this hybrid set.
