Notes
  • Experiment
ENU mutatgenesis was performed on C57BL/6J males. Potential mutations were propgated and crossed onto a (C57BL/6J x C3H) hybrid background. Forty-three polymorphic markers were used to map new mutations, and ultrasound imaging was used to screen mutant fetuses with cardiovascular defects. Two recessive mutations mapped to mouse Chromosome 4. A mutation causing ventricular septal defect, vsd, mapped to a 17 Mb interval between D4Mit196 (12.1 cM) and D4Mit288 (28.6 cM). Persistent truncus arteriosis, pta, mapped to a 5.7 Mb interval between D4Mit312 (69.8 cM) and D4Mit189 (71 cM).
