Notes
  • Experiment
Analysis of H2 congenic strains derived from A.SW donors and C57BL/10Sn recipients mapped resistance to Trichinella spiralis to mouse Chromosome 17. The B10.S(8R) congenic is very suscptible to infection by T. spiralis and localized Ts1 (Trichinella spiralis resistance 1) near H2-Ab1 (18.64 cM). B10.S(8R) carries the k allele at H2-Ab1 and presumably also at Ts1. B10.S(7R) is significantly more susceptible to infection by T. spiralis compared to congenic strains B10.S(23R) and B10.S(24R). A second locus responsible for T. spiralis resistance, Ts2, is believed to map between H2-S (18.8 cM) and H2-D (19 cM) on mouse Chromosome 17. Resistant congenic strains B10.S(23R) and B10.S(23R) carry the s allele at H2-S and presumably also at Ts2.
