Notes
  • Experiment
QTLs linked to the trans regulation of genes involved in the corticotropin-releasing factor system were mapped using male animals from 28 BXD recombinant inbred lines (B=C57BL/6J; D=DBA/2J). Transcript abundance of Crh, Crhr1, Crhbp, and Avp were used asquantitative traits. Parental strain DBA/2J exhibits lower transcript abundance of all 4 genes compared to parental strain C57BL/6J. A panel of 975 polymorphic loci was used for linkage analysis.

Significant linkage to Crhr1 expression mapped to 30 cM mouse Chromosome X. This locus is named Crhr1taq3 (Crhr1 transcript abundance QTL 3), and the 95% confidence interval of Crhr1taq3 spans 21 cM. A potential candidate gene mapping near Crhr1taq is Avpr2 at 29.5 cM.
