  Sig is a dominate mutation that arose in a (C3H X 101)F1 background and was maintained by backcrosses with C57BL/6J. The authors determined that D6Rp2 (TB6) was not deleted in Sig. Further analysis of Sig in a congenic strain indicated that Sig was coretained within a congenic region that included D6Mit86, D6Rp2 and D6Mit1.
