    Physical mapping using BAC clones and RH panels were informative to show that a Drosophila sex-lethal transgene inserted and disrupted a mouse Chromoosome 5 locus. This locus was linked to mouse Chromosome 5 marker D5Mit237 and exprimental evidence suggested that the disrupted locus(Mkrn1-ps1) was transcribed and had significant sequence similarity to Chromosome 6 locus Mrnk1. However it was noted that Mkrn1-ps1 did not produce a protein product.
