Notes
  • Experiment
Analysis of a Col2a1 transgene pAA2 indicated that a locus was disrupted incidental of Col2a1 that caused a yellow coat color. This new insertional mutation was called ysb, which appeared to have two integration sites; one site deleted a chromosome segment whereas the other did not appear to. FISH analysis on wild type chromosomes was instrumental in showing that the disrupted locus resulting in the ysb phenotype resided in Band A3. In addition the two integration sites may reside within the chromosome 3 inversion In(3)9H. Coincidentally another ENU mutation Sox2 was found allelic with ysb and was also shown to be within the inversion. Genetic mapping showed Sox2 segregating with D3Mit168.
