Notes
  • Experiment
841 male mice 56-125 days of ages from 20 BXD/Ty RI strains were used to map QTLs associated with ethanol-induced conditioned taste aversion behavior. Inbred strain DBA/2J exhibits increased sensitivity to ethanol compared to C57BL/6J and decreases consumption of an ethanol-paired distinctive taste (ethanol-induced taste aversion) in a dose dependent manner. Saccharin solution drinking water was used as the paired taste in this study. Cons5 (P<0.01, in linkage with Glud; 15.5 cM) mapped to Chromosome 14 at 15.5 cM and is associated with preconditioned saccharin intake.
