    C57BL/6J are sensitive to salt induced hypertension whereas A/J are non-salt-sensitive allowing for a genome wide scan for loci contributing to hypertension. 250 male mice from reciprocal backcrosses between (C57BL/6J x A/J)F1 x C57BL/6J were informativein mapping 6 Blood pressure QTLs to 5 mouse chromosomes. Beq5 interacted with Bpq6 and mapped with markers on mouse Chromosome 6. Bpq5 mapped with D6Mit15 with an F value of 13.9 and a P value of 0.00025. Suggested candidates for Bpq5 were Gnb3, Kap, Grin2b and Pthlh.
