Notes
  • Experiment
C57BL/6J are sensitive to salt induced hypertension whereas A/J are non-salt-sensitive allowing for a genome wide scan for loci contributing to hypertension. 250 male mice from reciprocal backcrosses between (C57BL/6J x A/J)F1 x C57BL/6J were informativein mapping 6 Blood pressure QTLs to 5 mouse chromosomes. Beq4 had a main effect and mapped with markers on mouse Chromosome 5. Bpq4 mapped with D5Mit31 with an F value of 8.9 and a P value of 0.0032. Suggested candidates for Bpq4 were Prkar1b and Gna12.
