Notes
  • Experiment
Mouse strain NC/Nga is a model for human dermatitis. In an effort to map the gene or genes responsible for dermatitis in mice a genome wide scan was employed using 93 segregrants from a (NC/Nga x MSM/MS)F1 x NC backcross. Only backcross mice which exhibited severe dermatitis, were informative. A dermatitis locus (derm) significantly (chi square 16.4) segregated with markers D9Mit163, D9Mit72, D9Mit143, D9Mit103, D9Mit207 and D9Mit209 on mouse Chromosome 9. The authors suggest that Csk could be a candidate for the dermatitis phenotype in the NC/Nga strain. Authors used Derm1 for Derm.
