Notes
  • Experiment
Authors mapped the Aey1 mutation between D1Mit303 and D1Mit332. The small number of animals used in this cross and the resulting standard deviation presented both Cryba2 and six Cryg genes as candidates for the mutation. Sequence analysis revealed that amutation in Cryge destroys the first ATG of the protein. Further analysis suggests that a second ATG downstream whose phase is shifted by + 1 as compared to the Cryge ORF is used to make a protein in Aey1 mutant mice.
