Notes
  • Experiment
Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) effecting age specific body growth rates in mice were mapped using 535 F2 intercross mice from a (LG/J x SM/J)F1 cross. LG/J mice exhibit a large size at 60 days of age whereas SM/J exhibit a Small size. QTLs on 16 of 19 autosomes effective age specific growth was detected in a genome wide scan using microsatellite markers. QTL marker Bgeq13 was associated with early growth rate and mapped to mouse Chromosome 14 near D14Mit5. A QTL marker Bglq11 was associated with late growth near D14Mit7.
