  The authors identified two related transgenic insertional mutations in the downless locus: Edar^{TgN(OVE1A)Ove} and Edar^{TgN(OVE1B)Ove}. A single YAC was found to rescue the Edar^dl-J, Edar^OVE1A and Edar^OVE1B mutations, refining the physical mapping of the gene involved with the Edar phenotype.
