  Sequence analysis of the 3' flanking regionn of the Stk11 gene revealed the presence of another gene transcrbed in the opposite direction. Several ESTs corresponding to this transcript were identified in the EST database. This gene has been assigned the symbol Dos. The Stk11 and Dos genes are approximately 1.2kb apart.
