  Radiation hybrid mapping data from the T31 panel indicated that mouse locus Mlh3 segregated within 50 cR centromeric of D12Mit6 (LOD 12.6). BAC cytogenetic mapping data supported the mouse Chromosome 12 location. Interestingly, Mlh3 mapped to a region of mouse Chromosome 12 that contained a QTL peak for colon cancer susceptibility marker Ccs1 (J:19675). However, molecular evidence did not support Mlh3 as being totally responsible for the Ccs1 trait.
