GeneAlleleAssay TypeDescription
Gnas restriction analysis, overlapping clones, Southern analysis
Notes
  • Experiment
The authors used methylation-sensitive RDA to clones sites of parental-allele-specific methylation on mouse chromosome segments as a means of identifying imprinted loci. Physical mapping using overlapping clones, Southern, and restriction anlysis estimated the Gnas and Gnasxl loci to be separated by 15kb and the Gnasxl and Gnas loci to be separated by ~30kb. The order/orientation of the genes on mouse Chromosome 2 was: 5' - Gnas - 3' - 15kb - 5' Gnasxl - 3' - 30kb - 5' - Gnas - 3'. The markers listed in this cross have been mergered and are collectively referred to as Gnas.
