The complete coding sequence (AF080070) of the KRAB10 containing gene was sequenced . BLAST results indicated that the KRAB10 containing gene was similar to Clone 18 as reported in J:14373 Crossley PH, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A 1991 Sep 15;88(18):7923-7. In the aforementioned Crossley reference Clone 18 mapped to the region of mouse Chromosome 17 deleated by tw18. The authors here indicated that the KRAB10 containing gene genetically mapped to mouse Chromosome 17 and was tightly linked to Zfp51 and Zfp40, suggesting that the KRAB10 sequence is in fact Zfp54. The mapping of KRAB10 with mouse Chromosome 17 is in contrast with that reported in J:33558, Marine JC; etal. Chromosomal location of fifteen unique mouse KRAB-containing zinc finger loci.,Mamm Genome 1996 Jun;7(6):413-6, in which KRAB10 was identified as chromosome 9 marker Zfp76.
