  The MBAC239h3-900 probe containing the Alb1 locus hybridized to 13 independent YAC clones. 3 of the clones had been placed into the contig WC5.38 on mouse Chromosome 5. All of them were also hit by D5Mit361. The consensus map for mouse Chromosome 5 assigns both D5Mit361 and Alb1 to centimorgan 50 on mouse Chromosome 5. This mapping result is in agreement with existing Alb1 gene mapping data.
