  • Experiment
    A gene cluster of five high-cysteine keratin associated proteins were identified on mouse Chromosome 10. Using a PAC contig, the authors were able to construct a fine physical map of the Krtap12 gene cluster region on mouse Chromosome 10. The order of the genes are: centromere - D10Mit116 - Itgb2 - D10Jhu26 - D10Jhu27 - Sumo3 - Krtap12-5 - Krtap12-4- Krtap12-1 - Krtap12-3 - Krtap12-2 - D10Jhu25 - Pfkl - Cstb - - telomere. The Krtap12 cluster may in fact only represent one gene as sequence information was not provided beyond that for Krtap12-1.
