    Murine embryonic stem cells with targeted mutations in the mouse Aprt locus were used as donors to construct monochromosomal hybrids that contained mouse Chromosome 8 as the only mouse chromosome. Various mouse Chromosome 8 microsatellite markers, including D8Mit49 and D8Mit278, were used along with FISH to verify the mouse chromosome complement.
