Notes
  • Experiment
Testicular weight as a quantitative trait varies significantly between inbred strains C57BL/6J (lower testicular weight) DBA/2J (higher testicular weight) allowing for the mapping of the phenotype in the BXD (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)RI line. The testicular weight phenotype (Twq1) showed an association with markers on Chromosome 13 with the highest LOD score at the D13Mit3 locus. The putative QTL was found to be responsible for over 75% of genetic variability.
