Notes
  • Experiment
The IW32 erythroleukemic cell line was developed from the spleens of mice infected with FMuLv. Both a normal Epo locus and a rearranged Epo locus/allele have been isolated from this strain. While coding and 3' flanking sequences for both alleles of Epo appear identical, differences can be found in their 5' flanking regions. The rearranged allele is consitutively expressed, perhaps due to the localization of the transcriptionally active gene in opposite orientation, approximately 1kb distant. This active locus was later identified as Gnb2 (J43802).
