    This abstract discusses the mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) controlling the hormone-induced ovarian aromatase activity (HIAA) in mice. QTL linkage analysis of a (C57BL/6J x A/J)F1 x A/J backcross population mapped a QTL to mouse Chromosome 2, near D2Mit17 (LOD = 2.01). Reproductive congenic strain test crosses indicated two linked QTL flanking the original backcross position. The proximal QTL is near D2Mit355 (Aaiq3) and the more distal (Aaiq4).
