    Quantitative trait analysis of 64 progeny from a (M. musculus x M. spretus)F1 x M. musculus BC1 interspecific backcross and 19 progeny from a (M. musculys x M. spretus)F1 x M. musculus BC2 interspecific backcross was used to map Ihpd close to DXMit8 on mouse Chromosome X (P<0.001 for the BC1 cross and P,0.005 for the BC2 cross). Additionally, authors report that quantitative trait analysis of 31 progeny from a (M. musculus x M. spretus)F1 x M. spretus interspecific backcross also support an X- chromosomal location of the Ihpd locus. This data determined the following order of loci on the mosue X Chromosome : DXMit57 - DXMit50 - DXMit86 - DXMit126 DXMit146 - DXMit8 - Ihpd - DXMit128 - DXMit65 - DXMit12.
