Note that Arrdc3Gt(CSE513)Byg/Arrdc3Gt(CSE513)Byg (-/-) mice are smaller than either Arrdc3Gt(CSE513)Byg/Arrdc3+ (+/-) or wild-type (+/+) mice. Inset shows closeup of the coat of the homozygous mutant. The light colored speckling is due to dandruff (flakes of dead skin), which is associated with very thin skin in homozygous mutants only.
