Image
Caption A and B, electron micrographs showing typical ultrastructures of the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) in wild-type (A) or Srltm1Hta/Srltm1Hta muscle (B). Wild-type muscle predominantly contained a well organized tubular SR network, whereas fenestrated plate structures were often observed in mutant muscle. Scale bar, 0.5 um. In statistical analysis (C), three wild-type mice (total 132 SR structures) and four mutant mice (144 structures) were examined, and the data indicate the means +/- S.D. Significant differences were observed in the appearance of tubular SR and fenestrated SR between the genotypes. **, p < 0.01 in t test.
