Caption Immunostaining of androgen receptor (AR) from wild type (A) and Artm1.1Chc/Y (B) mice. For AR staining, anti-AR antibody and Vectorstain ABC-AP kit were used. Testes from wild type mouse show positive signal, (A, arrows) and testes from mutant mice show no positive staining. The histology of the testes from wild type (C) and mutant mice (D) shown by hematoxylin/eosin stain. Sprematogenesis in mutant mice arrested in pachytene spermaotcyte (P) stage. Rs, round spermatids; Es, elongated spermatids; P, pachytene spermatocytes. In further testes analysis (E), the tubule contains hypoplastic spermatogonia and pachytene spermatocyte. F: The tuble contains Sertoli cells only and shows fibrillary degeneration in the cytoplasm of Sertoli cells. G: Some cells in the tubule contain condensed and pyknotic nuclei. They may represent apoptotic bodies. H: Leydig cells located in interstitial space are hypertrophic.
