Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Left, Hps6ru-2J/Hps6ru-2J and right, Hps3coa/Hps3coa. The Hps3coa cocoa coat color phenotype is similar to that seen with ruby Hps6ru-2J, in that homozygotes for at birth have unpigmented eyes which later darken to a ruby color. The black pigment of the coat is diluted to a dark slate color, and the yellow pigment is diluted slightly. Hps3coa/Hps3coa mice cannot be distinguished from either Hps6ru-2J/Hps6ru-2J or Hps3coa/Hps3coa Hps6ru-2J/Hps6ru-2J mice.
