The first ATG and the stop (TGA) codon reside on exon 2 and exon 8, respectively. Coding regions are shown by gray boxes. The insertion site of the gene trap vector and the splice acceptor in the vector are indicated with arrows. BglII restriction sites and the expected DNA fragments produced by BglII digestion are shown. The location of the probe for Southern blotting with BglII digestion is shown by a filled box.
