Conditional knockout of Cdkal1 in pancreatic beta-cells. (A) The structure of the targeting vector for the generation of conditional Cdkal1 transgenic mice, Cdkal1^tm1.1Tomik/Cdkal1^tm1.1Tomik. Exon 5 of Cdkal1 gene was floxed by LoxP sequence to generate the floxed allele, Cdkal1^tm1.1Tomik. Mating of mice with the Cdkal1^tm1.1Tomik allele to germ-line cre-expressing mice results in the Cdkal1^tm1.2Tomik allele (deleted allele). Alternatively, floxed mice mated with a conditional cre-expressing mouse will also result in the deleted allele.
