Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Placental phenotype of Tgdsem1(IMPC)Mbp/Tgdsem1(IMPC)Mbp (Tgds-/-) embryos. At E9.5, Tgds-/- placentas are properly developed and comparable to controls. While Tpbpa staining appears more intense in the displayed KO placenta compared to the control littermate, it is not consistent with all KO and control placentas examined. At E10.5, Tgds-/- placentas exhibit an abnormal chorioallantoic interface (reduction in allantoic mesoderm) and multiple labyrinth zone defects compared to controls. In KO placentas, the Tfeb+ labyrinth trophoblast layer is reduced. Chorioallantoic branching is nearly absent as Gcm1 expression is sparse and remains at the chorioallantoic interface.
