Western blot with rabbit anti-collagen XXIII ectodomain polyclonal antibody of tissue extracts after immunoprecipitation with guinea pig polyclonal antibody. In corresponding lanes loaded with collagenase-treated protein the signal is absent. The arrow indicates the molecular weight of the full-length protein, whereas in brain and lung there are also signals at the molecular weight of the ectodomain (filled arrowhead) and signals at even lower molecular mass (open arrowhead). Asterisks indicate a band that may represent a non-reducible cross-linking of an immunoreactive collagen XXIII non-collagenous domain with another protein. Conditioned medium of HEK 293-EBNA cells stably expressing the collagen XXIII ectodomain was used as a positive (pos.) control.
