Panels consist of two sections at the ventral level to show the flocculus (a1-f1) and at the more dorsal level to show the paraflocculus (a2-f2). (g, h) Magnified images of the paraflocculus in the areas indicated by squares in (d2 and e2). Particular positive compartments are indicated by"1", "2", and "5"to be consistent with those in Figures 2-4. Asterisks point to the compartments with sparse distribution of moderately-positive Purkinje cells. Dashed circle in a1 is the area in which the positive compartment was supposed to emerge in the flocculus. The dashed lines in f1 and f2 indicate the boundaries of striped compartments. Scale bars, 200 microns in (a-f) and 100 microns in g and h.
