Arrows inbox 1 are remodeled, larger caliber vessels and asterisks are remodeled areas devoid of vessels. Box2: anterior cardinal vein (ACV), the major large caliber vessels sprouting from it are indicated by arrows. Box 3, the remodeled intersomitic vessels (ISV) are indicated by arrows, and the sprouting front (dorsal-most edge) is denoted by arrowheads.
