Low magnification view of seminiferous tubules in WT (f) and mutant (g) mice. Multinucleated symplasts (arrowhead) were frequently observed in the mutant seminiferous epithelium. Elongating spermatids in WT (h) versus mutant (i) mice. Abnormal nuclear (club shaped) morphology of spermatids (arrowheads) was frequently observed in mutant mice. Spermiation in WT (i) versus mutant (k) mice. Retained elongated spermatids (arrowheads) were often observed in stage IX tubules of the mutant mice but were rarely observed in WT mice.
