Caption Reactive gliosis in Aspatm1a(EUCOMM)Wtsi/Aspatm1a(EUCOMM)Wtsi mice. Immunohistochemical staining in the thalamus of wild-type (aspa+/+) controls and Aspatm1a(EUCOMM)Wtsi/Aspatm1a(EUCOMM)Wtsi (aspalacZ/lacZ) mice showed substantially increased numbers of GFAP-positive astrocytes and Iba-1-positive microglia in the mutants (at 3 months of age). Note that ASPA immunoreactivity is present in the control but not in the mutant. Bars: 25 um.
