Transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis of tibialis anterioris (TA) muscles of Del(16Hspa13-App)3Yah/+ (Ms3Yah) and Dp(16Hspa13-App)2Yah/0 (Ts3Yah) mice. The arrows are pointing at degenerative mitochondria. In Ts3Yah, some fibers are found having few small-sized mitochondria. In contrast, areas with increased mitochondrial mass present between adjacent fibers and containing few degenerative mitochondria are seen in Ms3Yah muscles. The cropped image is shown with 2.5X magnfication of the original image. M: mitochondrion. Scale bars are 2 um for the two first panels and 6 um for the last.
