Ultrastructural analysis of retinal ganglion cells axonal morphology in 24-month-old mt-Nd6^m3Dwa mice. Electron microscopic images of retrobulbar optic nerves of 24-month-old wild-type (A) and mutant (B) mice at 2,000X magnification. Retinal ganglion cells (RGC) axons in mutant mice were much more swollen and irregular in diameters and shapes.
