A,B: DLX-2 (a2; A) and DLX-1 (a1; B) immunofluorescence shown in adjacent sections. The LGE/CX boundary is indicated by the arrow in B and the upper arrow in H. S-phase cells, near the LGE/CX boundary (arrows in C,G,K). Arrows in C, E, G, I, K, and M mark double-labeled cells in the VZ. Arrowheads in C, D, G, H, K, and L show double-labeled cells in the SVZ/MZ subpial region. Asterisks refer to false-positive colocalization of DLX immunoreactivity with BrdU in the VZ or the mesenchyme (giving a ring-like or concentric immunofluorescence pattern).
