Fibres emerging from the intermediate zone of the cerebellar anlage (arrowheads) project toward the caudal tegmentum and merge into the dense fibre. Small arrows, clusters of cells in the intermediate zone of the rostra1 midbrain tegmentum send processes into a sheet of fibre at the ventral surface of the midbrain, the narrow intermediate zones of the superior (sc). The boxed area is at higher magnification in D. C) Parasagittal section of the precerebellar neuroepithelium (arrowhead) and the putative premigratory zone of the inferior olivary migration (star).
