Sgms2^tm1Kenw/Sgms2^tm1Kenw (SMS2 KO) mice on a high-fat diet (HFD) are resistant to developing fatty liver. B, Oil-Red-O staining was performed using frozen-sections of liver. Livers of wild-type (WT) and Sgms2^tm1Kenw/Sgms2^tm1Kenw (SMS2 KO) mice on a normal diet (ND) and WT and SMS2 KO on a high-fat diet (HFD). WT mice develop fatty liver following a high-fat diet while SMS2 KO mice do not.
