Caption A: Histology of seminiferous tubules of juvenile Hsf2tm1Miv/Hsf2tm1Miv (Hsf2-/-, 7 and 18 day-old) and Hsf1tm1Miv/Hsf1tm1Miv Hsf2tm1Miv/Hsf2tm1Miv (hsf1-/- hsf2-/-, 18 day-old) mice compared to wild-type (+/+) counterparts. Paraffin-embedded sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. x630. B: Quantitative representation of the mean number of spermatogonia or spermatocytes per Sertoli cells in the randomly sectioned seminiferous tubules from juvenile wild-type and mutant mice. Sertoli, spermatogonia, and spermatocytes were counted using their characteristic morphology under light microscopy after H&E staining. Error bars represent the standard deviation of the means. Significant changes between groups are indicated as determined by Student's t-test.
