Wild-type (WT) and Tnfrsf4^tm1Nik/Tnfrsf4^tm1Nik (OX40-/-) mice were immunized and challenged with OVA and lungs sectioned from mice that did not undergo BAL. Sections were stained with PAS. Original magnifications: Top, x10; middle, x20; bottom, x40. Note that dark areas that are not nuclei represent mucus. Prominent mucus plugs and mucus positive goblet cells aer visible in wild-type bronchioles in the middle and bottom pictures.
