Testis sections were photographed using bright-field (A, C, E and G) and epiluminescence (B, D, F and H) optics. The stages of the seminiferous epithelium are designated by Roman numerals in C-H. Cell types are designated in A as follows: Leydig cells (LC), Sertoli cells (SC) and peritubular myoid cells (MC). Exposure time: 10 days. Size bar, 100 microns.
