The inlet in J (J'') shows expression of Tgfbr1 in the periosteum of the humerus of an E14.5 forelimb. Yellow arrows demarcate the distance from the joint region to the Ihh expression domain. Green arrows demarcate the hypertrophic region from the distal border of the Ihh expression domain to the center of the hypertrophic region (E14.5) or the chondro-osseus junction (E16.5).
