Arrows in A-L highlight loss of telencephalic dorsal midline structures in the Shh-/-, Gli3-/- double mutant. Arrowheads in E, F delineate the boundary between the lateral and dorsal regions. G, H are computer overlays of Nkx2.1 and Dlx2 in-situs. Asterisk and arrowhead in G, H reveal ventral an dlateral structures in the mutant similar to the MGE and LGE (medial and lateral ganglionic emminences). Brackets in I indicate Gli1 expression. Bracket in K, L shows ventral area of high Pttch1 expression.
